CHARITABLE
GIVING AT NORTH END WATERFRONT HEALTH
North End Waterfront Health, an affiliate of the Massachusetts
General Hospital, was founded in 1971. It provides primary and
specialty services to more than 10,000 residents annually. We
strive to meet current financial challenges. Proceeds from our
ongoing fundraising efforts help to underwrite the costs of
programs such as services to senior citizens who do not qualify
for public assistance. These services assist North End elders so
that they may maintain their independence and remain in their
own neighborhood. We are also able to provide care on a
sliding-fee-scale basis so that high-quality care is affordable
to all. Services at NEW Health, including specialties, outreach,
transportation, and affordable child care, are provided to
patients in all stages of the lifecycle, from infants to elders.
After holding several successful “Teammates for the North End”
fundraising events, in 2010 NEW Health partnered with “The Taste
of the North End.” Initiated in 1993 by Donato Frattaroli,
“Taste of the North End” brings together hundreds of
participants to feast on samplings of world famous North End
cuisine – all generously donated by our neighboring restaurants.

Other ways to help North End Waterfront Health with its mission:
- Donate in memory of a deceased loved one. In his/her honor, a
brass plaque will be placed on the memory board in our front
lobby.
- Direct “donations in lieu of flowers” to our health center. In
his/her honor, a brass plaque will be placed on the memory board
in our front lobby.
